The Government of Anambra State has commenced the implementation of Special Trade License Regulation under Vehicle Inspection Services in the Ministry of Transport.
A release from the office of the Hon. Commissioner of Transport Government of Anambra State Hon. Afam Mbanefo and made available by the Public Relations Officer of the Ministry, Onowu Emeka Ilozor, the Special Trade License regulation is aimed at regulating the activities of Motor Vehicle Related Trades and Operations in Anambra State with the objectives of ensuring Safety and Security in Anambra State roads and businesses within the sector.
Onowu further stated that the regulation is being implemented with the complimentary efforts of Accident Prevention and Rescue Initiative as the coordinating Consultant.
According to the release, the Special Trade License is mandatory for Motor Vehicle Dealers, Auto Spare Parts Dealers, Auto Mechanics, Assemblers and repairers of Keke and its spare parts including Artisans in the sector.
Mr. Onowu further stated that it is mandatory for all those involved in Motor Vehicle Related Trades and operations to be licensed by the Ministry and that defaulters will be charged to a dedicated Mobile Court for prosecution.
Reacting to the development, representative of the Coordinating Consultant organization, Prince Fidelis Nnadi expressed appreciation to the Government of Anambra State for the confidence reposed on the organization towards complimenting efforts in this direction stressing that safety and security of lives and property is the priority of government that should be complimented by all Nigerians.
