The Legislator representing Southern Ijaw Federal Constituency of Bayelsa  State in the House of Representatives Hon. Preye Influence Goodluck Oseke who doubles as deputy Chairman House Committee on petroleum (Upstream)  has hailed the Leadership style of Speaker House of Representatives, Rt Hon Femi Gbajabiamila.

Hon. Oseke took this position while sending birthday greeting to the speaker who turned 59 last Friday praying for for his good health and that of his family while assuring him of his continuous support for his leadership

He particularly eulogized Mr speaker’s leadership style describing it as extraordinary in this great country and characterizing his technique of piloting the affairs of the House as unifying  devoid of partisanship rather focused on nation –building.

” Mr Speaker is one extraordinary leader we have in this great country. He is a team player, he is one person that has been in parliament for quite a while and understands the dynamics of how the parliament works, having been exposed to different parliaments in the entire globe. The 9th  Assembly for the house of reps , I can tell you the leadership has been a very good one, great in the sense that it operates an all-inclusive style of leadership those of us who are even new members, we feel very much at home unlike the situation that was there before we came” Hon Oseke stated

He also pointed out that under the present dispensation, divisive crisis and contention that use to be predominant in parliaments are minimal as a result of the experience Hon Gbajabiamila has brought to bear in the affairs of the house.

“Within the parliament frictions that have always been a very clear feature or occurrence in previous legislature I can say this is a bit minimal because he has this nation-building slogan which is our common agenda. Virtually all the political parties who are represented in the parliament is really, really being carried along, if u look at the committee chairmanship that were appointed, there is no partisanship, we have this oneness. We have members of the opposition PDP we have members of other political parties who have representation in the house , everybody’s interest is taken care of and I can tell you his leadership within is one of the strengths we have that have been able to give stability to this country” The Honorable added.

Continuing, Hon Oseke said “yes, some people have some reservation as to what the 9th Assembly is doing but I can tell you if not the leadership style of Rt Hon Femi and of course in extension the Senate President  we wouldn’t have had the smooth relationship that is between the executives and the legislature. We know the insecurity that is in this country. If the legislature continues to play that antagonistic role that has been the hallmark in previous administration I can tell you maybe our national unity will completely be threatened. But at every occasion that our national unity is threatened the speaker has been one person that firmly believes in the unity of this country and has been able to pull that togetherness amongst members to give the oneness that is needed making every region in this country feel that we are one nation no matter the challenges we are facing as a country. Every country has its own challenges. Nigeria has hers. And together we can continue to surmount the challenges that we have,”

While wishing the speaker a very wonderful birthday. Hon Oseke reiterated that Hon Gbajabiamila is one leader in this country that his works will continue to speak for him and prayed that God grants him many more years ahead and of course may be a higher platform to serve this great nation.
