Bala Nikyu

Angry fans of Nasarawa United Football Club, of Lafia have promised hostile reception to Coach Bala Nikyu who is set to be unveiled as the technical adviser of the club for the second time any moment from now.
Some of the fans who spoke with Instant Africa on Sunday shortly after NUFC piped Jigawa Golden Stars 1-0 in a week 20 of the 2019/2020 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL)’ season, said Nikyu would not be welcome to Lafia again having abandoned the team in week 5.
One of the ardent fans of the club, Adamu Musa said Nikyu should look elsewhere for his coaching job which he is combining with civil service job, that the fans of NUFC are comfortable with Coach Abubarka Arikya led technical crew.
“Wallahi! If Bala Nikyu is not welcome here again, we don’t want him, what is he coming to do here again after he abandoned us like orphans a few weeks ago? If he insisted in staying he should expect worse than what happened before,” Musa warned
However, another fan who pleaded anonymity told this reporter that the second coming of Nikyu is going to be vindictive, therefore, they are not going to take it from him, because the club is doing well now and they don’t want him to come and return them to the days of sorrow he created and later left.
The fan noted that, they are in one voice, they don’t need him in the club again but if he chose to stay against their liking, he should expect a very hostile reception all through as they are happy with the good job of Arikya led team which is giving them opportunity to smile again after he (Nikyu) left them in sorrow.
“We don’t want Nikyu again, we are happy with the current technical crew led by our own Arikya, who ever that is bringing back here is looking for trouble and we are going to give it to them. He should pray well that he don’t lose a match here at home again, if he does, he know that we really don’t want here again.
“We have won our last two home games and anything short of that in subsequent games will not be acceptable, so Nikyu and his employer should think well….” the fan warned.
Meanwhile, our reporter who was at Lafia Township stadium on Sunday reported that Nikyu was seen at a corner at the VIP stand while the home team won their forth games of the season and the third at home after he abandoned the team.
