The Director General National Taskforce to Combat Illegal Importation of Small Arms, Ammunitions, light Weapons, Chemical Weapons and Pipeline Vandalism (NATFORCE) has expressed the readiness of his organization (NATFORCE) to collaborate and partner with the National Security Adviser (NSA) to the President in order to eradicate illegal importation of arms and ammunition into the country.

This was contained in a letter written by NATFORCE and addressed to the NSA, dated 14th September, 2020 which was made available to our reporter in Abuja.

NATFORCE also hailed the recent establishment of a National Center for the Control of Small Arms and Light Weapons. They similarly commended the efforts of the ONSA in the fight against importation of illegal arms and ammunition in the country.

The letter read in part; “we acknowledge and commend your unimpeachable commitment, hard work and uncompromising effort of your very capable office towards the patriotic combat and war against the smuggling of illegal importation and proliferation of small arms and light weapons, especially from across the borders of our country.

”Our vision and mission statement aligns with your current mission and vision which is strategically combating illegal importation, smuggling of small arms and light weapons into the country.

“We hereby offer our full support towards achieving your set goals and hereby propose a synergy between the National Center for the Control of Small Arms and Light Weapons and our organization.
