Dr. Ahmed Lawan, President of the Nigerian Senate

The Nigerian Senate on Thursday confirmed Dr. Kingsley Obiora as the deputy governor of Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Zikurullah Olakunle Hassan as the new chairman of Hajj Commission alongside three executive commissioners and five Part-Time members.
The chairman of the Senate Committee on Banking, Insurance and other Financial Institutions, Sen. Sani Uba while presenting the report of his committee screening of the candidate on Wednesday to the senate urged the senate to receive and considered the report of his committee on the confirmation of appointment of Dr. Obiora as the deputy governor of CBN.
Also, the chairman senate committee on Foreign Affair, Sen. Emmanuel Bwacha (Taraba South) presented Hassan to the senate to be confirmed as the chairman of the Nigeria Hajj Commission (NAHCON) and his members.

Meanwhile, the Senate also confirmed Abdulahi Hardawa, as executive commissioner Operation, Inspection and Licensing; Nura Yakasai as executive commissioner Policy, Personnel, Management and Finance and Sheikh Momoh Imonnikhe as executive Commissioner, Planning, Research, Statistics, Information and Library.
Also, Halimat Jibril (Niger State), Annan Jato (Borno), Garba Umar (Sokoto), Ibrahim Ogbonnia Amah (Ebonyi), Sadiq Oniyesaneyene Musa(Delta) and Akintunde Olayinka(Ohub) were both confirmed as Part-Time members.
While, eight representatives of Ministries, Departments and Agencies were also confirmed.
However, the President of the Senate Ahmed Lawan enjoined the New chairman of NAHCON to work on the reduction of airfare for intending pilgrims.
