As part of dividends and returning back to the constituency, considering the fact that Maradun and Bakura local government areas are among the largest producers of rice in Zamfara state, as farmers in the two local councils engage in wet and dry season farming of the produce in large quantities.
Hon. Ahmed Mohamed Bakura representing Maradun/Bakura federal constituency has organized One-day training on modern farming techniques for farmers in the area with the view to boost their productivity.

The training, conducted in collaboration with the National Productivity Center, Abuja, saw over 100 farmers, mostly youths and women as well as some extension workers from the two local government councils.
Indeed, participants were exposed to various modern methods and techniques of rice production, which the facilitators said will be assisting the overall yielding and significantly empower people in the constituency.

The facilitators explained that the new modern method of rice production has since been embraced by farmers across some other states of the federation, saying the result has been encouraging.
The federal lawmaker, represented by his Senior Legislative Aide, Alhaji Mustapha Atiku said the programme was part of his initiative at empowering people of his constituency to become self-reliant and enhance their standard of living in line with the federal government policy in the agricultural sector.
He however, urged the participants to make best use of the knowledge acquired at the training for their betterment and enhancement of farming activities in the area and the state in general.
Meanwhile, some of the participants, in an interview with Instant Africa News applauded the lawmaker for the training and expressed optimism that it will greatly enhance their productivity.
Also speaking, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) chairmen in Maradun and Bakura local government areas, Alhaji Yakubu Gado and Alhaji Lawal Mu’azu noted that the gesture is one out of many people’s oriented programmes initiated by Honourable Bakura to better the life of his constituents.
Highlight of the event was the distribution of certificates and N10, 000 to each of the participants, as training allowance.
