A law firm, O.A.U. Enahoro & Associates, has written to the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister’s office, requesting comprehensive information on monthly financial allocations to all Area Councils within the FCT.
The request, dated June 11, 2025, was made under the Freedom of Information Act 2011 on behalf of a client, Ogboi Anthony U. Enahoro.
In a letter the law firm wrote to the office if the Minister recently and made available to media houses, the law firm noted that the Area Councils have been on strike since March 2025, citing non-payment of legitimate entitlements. The firm expressed doubt that the FCT Minister’s office has been releasing monthly allocations to the Area Councils, despite the strike.
The law firm is seeking detailed information on the financial allocations to the Area Councils, likely to shed more light on the alleged non-payment of entitlements and the ongoing strike action. This development highlights the need for transparency and accountability in the management of public funds in the FCT.
